Attendance has been down a fair clip despite seasonal weather for this time of year. Games need to be put in the center of the state since they are clearly driven by teams who are coming to Canton and not the “passionate” HS fan base of NE Ohio like those fans like to claim.
Attendance was declining in Columbus too. Declining attendance is happening all over the country in all sports. State Basketball is in Columbus, and yet that tournament is seeing declining attendance as well.
Look at the price before they went to Columbus, to what they have become since.
Back in the day Canton/Massillon was not as big as an issue.
The bandit just stated the actual FACTS. Deal with it.
Disturbing attendance trends indeed. I am sure location and prices are part of the problem, especially for the casual fan. Yet consider these thoughts: 1.) television and other media coverage 2.) the beginnings of the decline in the popularity of high school football and football in general.
