If Ironton wins, will Williams be First Female Football State Champion?

Interesting question, in my mind. But it might have already happened.

First female in the nation to win a state title? No.

Ohio? Maybe.

No, I believe a girl from Kenston is when they beat Alter in 2018

Can’t remember her name but her brother played at Ohio State and later for the Jets. I thought she played on a championship team and now is a power lifter. Maybe she just played in the playoffs???

Holley Mangold played for Kettering Alter and they lost in the state championship to Steubenville I believe.

pretty sure you’re referring to Nick Mangold’s sister, Holley, who played OL for Alter when they won Sate in 2008 (she was a senior) and then Alter won again in 2009.

Also, she competed in power lifting at the 2012 Olympics for Team USA.

You are 100% correct. I was on the Ironton Football Association that ran the chains for that game in Massilon. We were on the Alter side. She did play a few snaps.

That is her name…Thank you

Who is the girl for Ironton and does she actually play?

Every single day burg fans on this site prove they can be even more daft than they were the day before.:clown_face::clown_face:

I’m sure ones have won a state title. Athens played against a female kicker. The year before she became the first female to score points in the state finals. She made two extra points. Field goals haven’t been done before

Evan Williams, she’s the extra point kicker (starter) she’s only missed 2 or 3 all year, and they were on bad snaps. I’ve seen her at practice kicking 30 yard FG’s

Respectfully this isn’t a sincere question. Its didnt even need asked cause last I checked Google works just fine. Its passive aggressive.

Yep. Anna Sanders was their place-kicker. She later was on the varsity roster (I believe) at Ashland U.

She’s 57-60 on Extra Points and 1-1 on FG’s 27 yarder.
