Eastern scored 68 Saturday.
Soccerfix must be sleeping through the games or something!
Waverly needs to stay out of foul trouble to stay in this game. If Lundin or Roback get in early foul trouble the Tigers will be hurting on the glass.
Piketon-64
Waverly-52
Piketon- 31
Waverly- 23
At the half.
Any final score yet?
Pike Co. should be proud of the show that the Tigers and Streaks put on tonight.
What a great bunch of young men on both teams!
It is a shame someone had to lose that one!

SO WHO WON???
Piketon 65
Waverly 60
Thanks
Great game for both teams…
As many said Piketon had better guard play. Legg is a stud. Smith and Brabson played very good for Piketon. Brush’s slam (off a rebound) with time running out, was icing on the cake for the Streaks.
For Waverly Kretzer is the man. IMO the best all-around player in this tournament, he shoots 3’s under pressure at an amazing rate. Martin also had a good tournament a great kid who works hard.
Heck, I am now a fan of Jake Kretzer, but I don’t know that he was the best "all-round" player…YET…If he gets better, I can’t imagine his senior year
Great Game! Just glad to be a part of it…Great fan support by the Piketon faithful, and I think it really helped down the stretch. Hope we continue to see that the remainder of the year!
Kretzer was in the zone…I don’t know if he’s the best all around player, but he looked ALL-American tonight. He will be very special his senior year. This waverly team will be good for the next few years to come.
Legg silenced his doubters; I hope everyone keeps saying that he is too hyped…The truth is, he’s now healthy!..Piketon played as a TEAM and down the stretch, they gutted it out. Give Waverly credit, they didn’t quit. As for "the DUNK"..that was in another league…That was incredible!..and what a way to ice the game at the end. He did that off a tip and over a guy…WOW! Just a great win for the streaks, and it gives us a great deal of momentum going to Adena on Friday night. Take care of business!
On another note, please remember Jimmie Lewis; he’s the dad of two of our players, James & Matt Lewis. He has been sick; he was at the game and had to be taken to the hospital. Please pray for him and remember the kids in your prayers!
over hyped? Those of us who watched his dad play know what this kid is capable of.
In two years it will be special!

Krezter did make the all tourney team,He was unbelievable tonight, one of the best shooting performances i’ve seen in a while,it was awesome, how about the pull up 3 on the fast break…that was sweet, everytime he touched the ball I was saying"shoot it"the kid was unconscious, also gotta give credit to Roback, that kid plays all out every play and just has that winners mentalaty, just love watching him play, but in crunch time Piketon just out hustled the Tigers on the offensive boards on missed free throws,in my opinion Caleb Southworth’s hustle plays down the stretch put Piketon over the top,and I can’t say enough about Evan Legg,he is the one that makes this team go,he just does it all for this team,it seems like when there in trouble he bails them out with a great assist,or that little runner he likes so much,or the 15 ft jumper that he rarely misses,Piketon is very lucky to have a player like that…and he’ll be there a couple more years.Last but not least how about the finishing dunk by Kennan Brush, maybe one of the best plays i’ve ever seen in HS BB,just because of the timing of it to seal a game and it being the Holiday Tournament and he came out of nowhere it was just an awesome play, and prolly the loudest i’ve heard a hs gym in a while as that place exploded when he threw it down.Maybe the best Holiday Tourney i’ve ever seen, all 4 teams were were pretty good this year and 3 out of 4 games came down to the wire.Alot to look forward to the next couple of years as 3 of the teams are pretty young with only Western losing the majority of there talent.Pike County Basketball will be fun to watch the next couple of years.
Absolutely worth every penny for the ticket last night! Game one was definately one of the best consolation games you will see. Eastern plays very hard and I believe will be have a season to be proud of. Western won the battle on the boards late seemed to be the difference. Great game!
Piketon and Waverly was one of the best games you will ever see. The hustle by both teams was inspirational. It was what HS basketball and sports in general is all about. The kids laid it all on the line. Props to the coaches for getting everything out of the kids. Not an easy thing to do! I know Smith was the tourney MVP and Legg made the all tourney team, but I want to give some props to Southworth. He has a motor that doesn’t quit! To watch him play defense is worth the bleacher sores. His deflections and ball pressure was a huge difference in the game. I have watch PHS several times this year, and that effort was 150 percent more than any other game they have played. I hope the players take notice and realize they beat a good Tiger team tonight, and they’re effort and hustle was the reason! PERIOD!
