The only possibility that moving to saturday would open up is that of teams not wishing to spend a long evening at a friday night meet. If there is a nearby meet on saturday of the same weekend, they could possibly seize some other teams in addition to those that are partial to the Rotaries in the first place. Result: increased team attendance. Unfortunately, this meet has been in steady decline and I hate to see it happen. Steadier meet management, fewer delays, and strategic placement of the meet can help to revitalize the event over a period of a few years.
Personally, I like Friday. Saturday is also ACT’s. Also, list the meet on Baumspage. I always thought that a Jr High Invite might work. There are not very many invites around for Jr High kids.
This used to be a saturday meet when the teams came out in greater numbers. Now that it is a smaller meet, it has moved to friday to accomodate the increasing tendency of teams to compete on friday night as opposed to saturday afternoon.
Has the Rotary Relays or Belpre Shrine meet changed dates since last year and years before? Eastern has always attended both od these meets in years past.
