Noticed that Whiteoak only lost by 8 pts back in mid December to New Boston. Might be overmatched at a position or two, but I bet the Wildcats show up and give a great effort in trying to derail NB.
Whiteoak will always play hard. You never know come tournament time. They are young but they believe. New Boston is deeper than in the past. Sexton will get his and his interior defense is very good. If it’s a horse race then New Boston. If it stays close and Whiteoak doesn’t let New Boston breathe, then Whiteoak could very well pull the upset. Will be a fun game to watch.
Whiteoak will player harder than hell but 2 freshman, soph the rotation of 6 players. 3 great athletes in that 6 and Nick Bailey one of most athletic kids in the district.
New Boston with their talent and size should win by 15+, but Whiteoak won’t care about that.
Whiteoak will be a main player next season regardless and I appreciate our 2 hour delay for Wednesday
Congrats to New Boston on your win over a very tough Whiteoak team tonight in the Sectional Championship game. Good luck in your first round game at the Convo against a pretty good Leesburg Fairfield team.
From 1999-2019…Whiteoak lost to an SOC 1 team in the sectionals or districts exactly 1 time (they were 0-22) that year. New Boston made it 2x now but the 15 seed Whiteoak boys took the 2 seed to the limit.
New Boston better wake up or this party might end sooner than expected.
I know, I know “survive and advance.” But end of the day they were about knocked off by a #15 seed right out of the gates. They better clean some things up going forward because Fairfield is in Whiteoak’s league. Those coaches will be swapping film and game notes on the blueprint to beat New Boston.
Perhaps a little bigger floor will help New Boston next week.
