Trevor Setty vs. Camden Miller

Former Wheelersburg great Camden Miller and Peebles/Maysville native Trevor Setty will square off today in the Division 1 NAIA national championship game in Kansas City. Setty, a 6’9" small forward(who was asked to walk on at Oklahoma St.),has led Pikeville to their first ever national championship game following a 20pt 11reb performance against #5 seed Martin Methodist in the fab four. The 6’8" Miller, a Marshall/Western Carolina transfer, has played a similiar role for Mountain State during the tourny as he is coming off a 14pt game against Georgetown(KY.) College. I just wanted to say congrats and good luck to both.

*Another interesting piece of trivia…Mountain State player Paul Sturgess is currently the tallest player in college basketball standing 7’8".

Sturgess is tall! The video of him in WalMart and everyone double-taking at him is funny.

Is this game on TV anywhere?

I heard it is going to be on the CBS College sports network. The game starts at 10.

I was wondering where Cam was playing now. I hope he gets the national championship. That would great for him. Didn’t Aldridge win it while he was there at Mountain State?

Yeah, I just found it. Thanks Maniac.

Anymore updates?

Pikeville wins!! Congrats to Trevor and the bears on their first national championship! Setty was the MVP with 32pts and 17rebs.

No. I don’t think they won it all last yr with aldridge on the team

Wow. My alma matar wins the national title!!
Sure weren’t that good when I was there.

This wburg fan really feels for miller and msu after the tought overtime loss last night… fun game to watch and hate it for cam that he really struggled down the stretch… great season though Cam!

Agreed…the trip was a little bitter sweet but it was definately an accomplishment to even make it to that game. Pikeville had never been there before this season. I am really happy for Trevor Setty. I can only imagine the teams we would have had if he and his 6’8", D1 commit, brother Treg would have been able to stay at Peebles through high school.

3 years ago our team would have been a state tourny contender:
*Denotes potential starters

*PG Andrew Seaman-6’2"-Soph.-All-State player, now playing at D3 nationally ranked Marietta College

*SG Blake Justice-6’3"-Fr.-2nd team all state(should have been first) player, D1 conference champ Akron commit

*SF Tyler Arnold-6’4"-Jr.-At or near double digits in scoring all four years of high school, all district player

*PF Treg Setty-6’5"(as a freshman-6’8" now)-Fr.-D1 Southern Illinios commit; was offered by Ohio U and Miami U on top of interest from Notre Dame, Xavier, and Kentucky. As a junior was ranked the fourth best player in Kentucky.

*C/PF Trevor Setty-6’9"-Sr.-Tourny MVP for national champion Pikeville; drew D1 interest from Oklahoma St, Kentucky, West Virginia, Louisville, and Eastern Kentucky but any offers were to walk on.

SF/PF Tyler Caudill-6’1"/6’2"-Jr.-2??? year starter for the indians.

C Evan Meade-6’6"-Jr.-Played decent minutes his senior season.

C Michael Dunlap-6’3"/6’4"-Sr.-Could use same description as Meade. Played solid minutes off the bench for the sectional champion Indians.

PG Andy Countryman-6’2"-Fr.-Second team all-district as a senior, getting intrest from a ton of D3 and NAIA colleges.

SF Matt Reno-6’1"/6’2"-Sr.-Really athletic player who I feel didnt get the minutes he deserved.

C Andrew Johnson-6’3"/6’4"-Sr.-Saw limited minutes

PG Nate Stephens-5’9"/5’10"-Soph.-Multiple year starter/contributer for the Indians. Great defensive player.

PF Eric Collier-5’11"-Soph.-All league player/double digit scorer his senior season.

SF Eric Carroll-6’-Fresh.-All district/four year starter for a good Hillsboro program.

 Looks pretty good to me. To bad its all just speculation at this point.

Sorry for no more updates Maniac. I fell asleep in recliner soon after I posted the one update.

No problem. I followed it through score updates on Trevor’s brother’s facebook page.

What I watched both teams were playing uptempo and firing up 3’s.

Didn’t Eric Carroll here at Hillsboro also come from Peebles? The kid has been a stud for us..4-year starter..

Yes he did. He would have been a freshman on the team I listed above.

me to. i was really hopin he’d get that title after the two losses in the state semi finals. maybe next yr
