Im curious to see how the vikes will improve from the season of 08. Any thoughts?
Bad again IMO. Maybe a little better than last year, but not much.

I agree that they will be down again this year unless something drastic changes within the program. as far as i know the schedule remains pretty much the same unless a non conference team dropped playing them. with hard work they might contend in the TVC
i think 09 will turn out alot better than 08, the biggest problem they have is not enough kids in the weight room in the off season, they also had a very young team last year, i was one of the only few seniors who started, but i think one of the biggest problems we had last year was not working hard enough in the off season, we lacked strength and size, hopefully now that we have a powerlifting team we can improve through the years, i think an off season program is just as important as the season,
so if your playing for vinton county next year get your butt down in the weight room, well be working hard for the upcoming powerlifting meets
When I watched them play at Jackson, they were running what looked like it was supposed to be the rocket sweep. The problem I saw with it was the back was catching the ball at about 8-yds deep. That takes away any advantage gained by using the rocket motion.
I sure hope they get it together this year. I hate watching blow outs!!!
