Has the potential to be an interesting game. Warren, to me, has the two best individual players in the game with Carr and Pepper, but FF is the better all around team right now. The Johnson kid is getting more comfortable at QB, but FF will probably blitz a good bit to try and keep him from getting it to Pepper outside. Warren has played FF well defensively the last two years, so we’ll see if that continues. Objectively, I would give FF the edge at home.
Hate that Murray has been kept out the entire season, this is a game where both teams deserve to play at full strength. These teams are to the point of being familiar with each other now, so a blowout would be a little surprising, but you never know.
And Point beat them by 30 last year and look what happened the next week. Scores don’t matter much. We’re playing a sophomore backup QB. Wins aren’t going to be pretty with that most times. Pepper against FF’s DBs is an equally big advantage in our favor. But yes, FF is the better team up front which is big.
Fort is alot more healthy than they were last year. Miller was hurt and Beardsley got hurt in the second quarter. Fort pass defense has been really good since they inserted Tullius and Wynn. I figure Pepper will be shadowed by Beardsley. Beardsley did great vs D1 prospect Carter Smith of West M and 6-7 Max Olejasz of Wheeling Central.
Pepper didn’t play offense last year because of an ankle, so we weren’t that healthy either. I’ll take my chances with Pepper vs whoever they put on him. Pepper is a division one level athlete as well, just has no interest in playing college football. My concern is Johnson getting pressured and that negating the advantage we have with Pepper outside.
And let’s be real, since you wanted to talk about injuries as an excuse, our starting quarterback, who is one of our 3 best players, hasn’t played a snap since Week 1. Give me a break with this man. You play who you play with who you have. Trying to keep it respectful, but come on.
I’d be willing to bet not a single person in this thread has seen the opposing team play this year once let alone multiple times to really know how this game will go. The only thing everyone has to go off of is previous years, common opponents etc… IF Vegas odds were available it would probably favor FF by a couple scores. Marietta actually made FF earn most of there touchdowns and was more physical than I expected! If Warren isn’t physical they are in for a long night. The only team that I have seen more physical than FF is Kirtland. West Jefferson has beat FF with athletes which is Warrens only chance in this game, their playmakers “Carr, Pepper” are gonna need to go off!
That’s a fair assessment. I don’t think physicality will be an issue. Like I said earlier, FF is the favorite at home and is the better all around team. Both teams have matchups they can exploit, it’s just a matter of who does it better.
